Bass:
As the colder weather continues to set in, the overall fishing conditions
are fair but the quality of the fish being caught is great. Large bass
in the 5 to 8 pound range are being caught on deep humps and drop offs
mainly in the mid lake areas between the two bridges for highway 515.
I recommend using Plata and 1/2 ounce jig and spoon in chartreuse or chrome
color. Also try a 1/2 ounce spinnerbug in chrome or white. The best
way to work either of these lures is to let your bait hit bottom
and then raise your rod tip up to around the 12:00
position and let your bait flutter back down. The best bites are coming
around mid-day.
Crappie:
The crappie are under the bridges and on old lake beds. Jigs and minnows
are the best way to go. Get to them early for the best bites.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK MY CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE FISHED WITH ME OVER
THE LAST 19 YEARS ON LAKE FORK.
